What is National Ocean Service Intern Program?

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)- National Gulf Institute (NGI) Diversity Internship Program provides an exciting scientific educational opportunity for undergraduate and early stage graduate students. These internships provide career exploration in a variety of fields studied by NOAA and NGI scientists including coastal science, fisheries management, climate change, ecosystem management, marine technology, engineering, socio-economic data analysis and environmental justice. - See more at the NGI webpage.

Program Requirements

In order to qualify for this benefit program, you must be:

  • A U.S. citizen
  • An undergraduate/graduate student who is currently enrolled in a degree-granting program at a US-accredited university.
  • A student from a STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) discipline as well as education and environmental justice
