What is Family Planning Services?

The purpose of the Family Planning Services Program is to assist in the establishment and operation of voluntary family planning projects which consist of the educational, comprehensive medical, and social services necessary to aid individuals to determine freely the number and spacing of their children.

Administration

Family Planning Services is administered by U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Program Requirements

To be eligible for this benefit program, you must:

  • characterize your financial situation as low income or as very low income; or
  • you or your family/household member must be pregnant; or
  • you must be a parent or primary caregiver responsible for children under the age of 19 years.
