Overview

The Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program provides free supplemental foods, nutrition education and health care referrals to lower-income pregnant, breastfeeding and postpartum women, infants, and children up to age 5.

Administration

Idaho Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) is administered by U.S. Department of Agriculture Food and Nutrition Service (FNS).

Program Requirements:

In order to qualify for this benefit program, you must be a resident of the state of Idaho; a pregnant, breastfeeding and/or postpartum woman; an infant or child up to 5 years of age.

 

 

 

In order to qualify, you must have an annual household income (before taxes) that is below the following amounts:

*For households with more than eight people, add $7,992 per additional person. Always check with the appropriate managing agency to ensure the most accurate guidelines.

 

A person who participates or has family members who participate in certain other benefit programs, such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Medicaid or Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), automatically meets the income eligibility requirement.
