What is New York Child Health Plus (CHIP)?

New York State offers Child Health Plus as a health insurance plan for kids. Depending on your family's income, your child may be eligible to join either Child Health Plus A (formerly Children's Medicaid) or Child Health Plus B. Both Child Heath Plus A and B are available through dozens of providers throughout the state. Enrolling in Child Health Plus is easy.

Program Requirements

In order to qualify for this benefit program, you must be a resident of New York, under 19 years of age or be a primary care giver with a children under the age of 19 or be pregnant, not covered by health insurance (including Medicaid), a U.S. national, citizen, legal alien, or permanent resident.

 

 

 

In order to qualify, you must have an annual household income (before taxes) that is below the following amounts:

8 $163,560

*For households with more than eight people, add $16,640 per additional person. Always check with the appropriate managing agency to ensure the most accurate guidelines.
