- Earned a minimum amount of wages determined by South Dakota guidelines, and
- Actively seeking work each week you are collecting benefits.

To apply for South Dakota unemployment benefits, you may file a claim at Unemployment Benefits. The website may be accessed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
