The program provides LIHEAP-eligible households with energy efficiency services. Typical work includes: air sealing, attic and/or sidewall insulation, weatherstripping and minor repairs associated with the weatherization installed measures. It is not a home rehab program and does not replace roofs or windows. Funding is from the U.S. Department of Energy.
In order to qualify, you must be a Massachusetts resident and first become eligible for LIHEAP (Fuel Assistance).
In order to qualify, you must also have an annual household income (before taxes) that is below 60 percent of the State Median Income:
|Household Size*||Maximum Income Level (Per Year)|
Households apply first for the Fuel Assistance Program (LIHEAP) to become eligible for the Weatherization Assistance Program. One application serves both programs. Click here to locate the Fuel Assistance agency where you should apply:
Or, you may call the HEATLINE at 1-800-632-8175 to learn where to apply. Call to schedule an appointment to complete the application. Households will be required to verify their income, household characteristics, and address.
If you are eligible for Fuel Assistance this year, then you are already on the waiting list for Weatherization services.
